House Rules

In Order to make your stay as pleasant as possible, the Management requests your co-operation in observing the following as an agreement between the guest and the ” Hocus Pocus Tiny Hotel” (hereinafter called ‘Management’) under which rooms are permitted to be used by the guest(s).

Please be aware that the tiny hotel has no reception and the check in/ out are a SELF CHECK IN/ SELF CHECK OUT process.

A- Make a booking and Payment

Where to book our rooms

To book one or more of our magical rooms, please follow our website instructions, mobile site or app. Our rooms are available on other third parties online travel agencies as well but we’ll advice you to book directly with us in order to avoid supplementary fees.

Group bookings

If you book for 3 or more rooms for the same night we will treat this as a “Group Booking”. For Group Bookings a deposit might be required in order to prevent any damage to our property.

Booking is not transferable

Your booking is not transferable and you cannot resell your booking (in whole or in part) or advertise it anywhere else. If you do transfer or resell your booking we may terminate your booking and retain the money paid to us for such booking. We may also refuse to accept any future bookings from you.

Age Requirement Policy

Guests must be 18 years or older with photo identification to reserve a room and you must be 18 years old or over to stay alone. No underage travellers allowed if not accompanied by an adult.

Tariff

The tariff is as published on our website, mobile site or app, is for the room only and is inclusive of any government taxes applicable. Meals and other services are available at extra cost. Your room tariff is indicated in your booking document as well.

Room rates are per room per night and are inclusive of VAT. You may be able to add Extras (flowers and chocolate) to your booking during the booking process. The payment for such extras will be requested separately before your arrival.

Settlement of Bills

Bills must be guaranteed by a credit/debit card online at the time of booking, personal cheques and cash are not accepted as we do not have a reception on site. 2 weeks before your arrival the payment will be settled by charging the debit/credit card uploaded at the time of the booking. Due to 3Ds secure checks of some debit/credit cards suppliers, you might be asked to fill extra sensitive fields that we will send you by email with a secure link. This will be the case only if your card has been declined due to the lack of info for the 3Ds secure checks that you should provide by following the link.

All rates are subject to availability at time of booking. T&C apply. All rates are pre-paid and must be paid for at time of booking using credit/debit card (charges apply).

B- Cancellation, amendments no shows and refunds

Cancellation

If the booking is cancelled before 22:00, 14 day(s) before check-in it is free of charge, less than 14 day(s) before check-in the charge is 100% of total.

If you need to change the dates of your booking, you can do it for free until 14 days prior your arrival date. Under no circumstances we can allow a change of dates after that because it won’t be possible for us to sell the room and it would have the same effect of a cancellation. Click here to cancel your booking and avoid unnecessary delays. Please contact us at info@hocuspocusyork.com or call us on +447377539149 with your booking reference at hand if you wish to modify your booking.

Same policy applies for Group Bookings.

Amendments

Any amendments to your booking are subject to availability. If necessary, follow the Cancellation process above and make a new booking.

No Shows

If you do not arrive in our Hocus Pocus Tiny Hotel on the scheduled date of arrival, you will be deemed to be a “no show”, your booking will be cancelled and you’ll be refunded only from the second night onwards for the rest of your booking. This refund will include all the Extras.

Refund process

The refund, where is payable, will be processed within 10 working days.

Cancellation by Hocus Pocus

If an event outside our reasonable control (flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of terrorism, partial or full cancellation or delay of major public event, interruption or fire, failure of electric power, water or other utility service, plant machinery or any collapse of building structure) is reasonably likely to prevent us from performing your booking we may cancel your booking on notice to you (including by email) and will refund in full any payment made by you in respect of such booking.

C- Arrival, departure and relocation

Self-Check-in

An e-mail/SMS with all the information for an easy self-check in will be sent to you before your arrival.

Check in is available every day from 3pm.

Departure and Late Check-Out

Check out time is 11am please inform us if you wish to retain your room beyond this time. The extension will be given depending on the availability. On failure of the guest to vacate the room on expiry or period the management shall have the right to remove the guest and his/her belongings from the room occupied by the Guest.

Late check-out can be purchased as an Extra during your booking process. We advise you to check with us first if the room is available for a late check-out.

Location

Please be aware that due to our central location, especially on weekends, you may experience some noise emanating from the surrounding pubs, usually until approximately 11 pm to 12 am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you that we are continuously working to minimize disruptions. If you find the noise levels unsatisfactory and wish to register a complaint, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your feedback and will do our utmost to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. 

Relocation

If your room is not available on arrival (other than due to an event beyond our reasonable control) we operate a relocation policy.

Based on it we’ll provide a room in a third party hotel (same category or above) and pay the reasonable cost of transport to that alternative hotel.

If our solution is not a suitable alternative accommodation, we’ll cancel your booking and refund your money.

D- Your stay with us

Maximum Occupancy

You must not exceed the maximum specified occupancy for the room type which you have booked.

Family Room: the maximum number of occupants is 4 (including babies and children under 16 years old). Here are the possible combinations:

4 adults
2 adults, 2 children
1 adult, 3 children
3 adults, 1 child

Double/Twin Room: the maximum number of occupants is 2

2 adults or
1 adult, 1 child
One Guest Occupancy

We do not have single rooms. In case you are travelling alone we can offer you a double room with single occupancy.

Extra Bedding Policy

We do not provide extra bedding.

Cleaning Policy

Our Covid 19 safety practices includes not only social distancing requirements for your safety while in your room or in our common areas but an enhanced cleaning according to our industry standards. If your stay is longer than one night, we’ll enter your room for cleaning purpose only on your request following the indications on the tag provided which you hang on the external handle of your room. If you want your bed to be tidy up, please do not leave any items/clothes/objects in bed.

Maximum Stay

We cannot accept bookings for more than 28 days in a row even if made in separate booking reservations.

Smoking Policy

All guest rooms and public spaces are 100% non-smoking and smoking is not permitted in any area of our building. You must not smoke in any public area, either in your room, or interfere with our fire detection system or with any emergency equipment. A £250,00 cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy. We also reserve the rights to take further action as to terminate your booking.

Hazardous Goods

Bringing goods and/or storing of any article of a combustible or hazardous nature and/or prohibited goods and/or goods of objectionable nature is prohibited.

The Guest shall be solely liable and responsible to the management, its other guests, invitees visitors, agents and servants for all loss financial or otherwise and damage that may be caused by such articles or as a result of the guests’ own negligence and non-observance of any / instructions.

Gambling, contraband, prostitution, weapons, explosives, flammable objects, poisons, drugs, animals and pungent food are strictly prohibited on hotel premises.

Damage to our property

The guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the hotel property caused by themselves, their guests or any person for whom they are responsible.

You must not damage or interfere with any items belonging to us. If you do so, we may terminate your booking immediately and charge immediately the payment to your card provided to make your booking.

Luggage Storage

Due to limited space within our building we are not offering this service. The nearest Luggage Storage is 10 minutes walking distance in 8 King St, York YO1 9SP, phone number 07828 272570 or  20 High Petergate, York YO1 7EH, phone 07561 852 654 (call for tariffs per hour and availability).

Guest’s Belongings

Guests are particularly requested to lock the door of their rooms when going out go. For the convenience of the Guest, electronic safety lockers are provided in the room to store any valuables.

The Management will not in any way whatsoever be responsible for any loss / or damage to the Guest’s belongings or any other property from either the hotel room or the locker or any other part of the hotel for any cause whatsoever including theft of pilferage.

Before your departure check for any object/item left behind as by new Covid 19 new guidance we are not anymore allowed to store forgotten items. All items forgotten will be destroyed and thrown away.

E- Extras

We offer different Extras when you make your online booking. If you have booked an Extras and is not available upon your arrival or during your stay, we’ll refund you the price paid for those Extras.

F- Parking

Car parking is provided by a third party provider and fees may vary. If you decide to use the car parking service, you’ll enter in an agreement with the third party provider and not with Hocus Pocus. We recommend to read carefully the third party provider terms and condition displayed at the car park before parking your car.

The nearest parking space is Shambles QPark which is 7 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Please visit their website for more info about tariffs.

We shall not be liable in any circumstances for any loss or damage to vehicles you bring to the hotel or any property left in them regardless.

G- General

Management’s Rights

It is agreed that the guest will conduct him/ herself in a respectable manner and will not cause any nuisance or annoyance within the guest accommodation premise.

The Management has the right to request any guest to vacate his/her room or other areas of the guest accommodation forthwith, without previous notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever, and the guest shall be bound to vacate when requested to do so. In case of the default, the Management has the right to remove the Guest luggage and belongings from the room occupied by him/her.

We process your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please take time and read it as it includes important information which may apply for you. By providing personal information in connection with a booking, you consent to such processing on behalf of you and each guest staying with you under such booking.

Relation between Management and Guest

Nothing hereinabove shall continue or be deemed to constitute, or create any tenancy or sub-tenancy, or any other right to interact in the guest accommodation premises or any part of portion thereof, in favour of any Guest or resident or visitor, and the Management shall always be deemed to be in full and absolute possession of the whole of the hotel premises.

Government rules and regulations and application of laws

Guest are requested to observe, abide by confirm to and be bound by all applicable acts and laws and Government rules and regulations in force from time to time.

Use of Branding

Our site contain trademarks, copyrighted materials, trade secrets, products or other proprietary rights of Hocus Pocus York ltd. No license to or right in any such trademarks, copyrighted materials, trade secrets, products or other proprietary rights of Hocus Pocus York ltd. is granted to or conferred upon you.

Photographs and Video’s

Using photographs and video’s taken in the hotel for commercial or public purposes is illegal.

THE MANAGEMENT RESERVES TO ITSELF THE RIGHT TO ADD TO, OR ALTER OR AMEND ANY OF THE ABOVE TERMS, CONDITIONS AND RULES WHICH ARE A PART AND AN ABSTRACT OF THE LODGING ACT.
